The practice introduced by P.O.S.T.O. Água creates a bond with forests and woods, seeing them as examples of cooperation and interconnection between their different components. Nowadays we are learning that plants have memory, strategies, and communication skills; that they use sophisticated systems of perception and response for foraging, protection or to favour the perpetuation of their species. We know that within the forest’s soil there is a web formed by mycelium and roots, at least as rich as everything else we can see over ground. With the understanding that there is intelligence in this system, we can cultivate a more respectful approach towards the forest, not focused solely on competition but on balance and cooperation.
